Service Update: AWS East US Outage Impact on Hereco

Shantanu Sen Gupta By Shantanu Sen Gupta October 22, 2025

On 20 October 2025, a major AWS East US regional outage temporarily affected some of our services and AI systems. This outage impacted several web platforms globally — including a few backend components used by Hereco.

🧠 What Happened

Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of our core cloud infrastructure providers, experienced downtime in its US-East (N. Virginia) region.

As a result:

Certain LLM (Large Language Model) responses were temporarily unavailable. Some parts of the Hereco chatbot and backend APIs experienced slower performance or intermittent access. Service reliability and uptime were briefly affected for a subset of users.

🛠️ What We’ve Done

Our engineering team quickly implemented fallback systems and rerouted certain services to restore access.

All major features, including the GPT OSS chatbot at hereco.xyz/chatbot, are now back online and stable.

We’re also enhancing:

Redundancy and region failover mechanisms to handle similar incidents in the future. Monitoring and response systems for faster detection and recovery.

⚙️ Current Status

✅ Gemini chatbot — Fully operational

✅ Core website — Stable

⚙️ Background model switching — Being optimized for higher reliability

If you still experience slow responses or temporary model loading issues, it may be due to ongoing AWS recovery at the regional level. Our systems will automatically normalize once AWS completes its full restoration.

💬 Thank You for Your Patience

We appreciate your understanding during this temporary disruption.
