Tejas LCA Crashes at Dubai Air Show : Pilot Killed During Demo Flight
A tragic incident struck the Dubai Air Show when an Indian Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) crashed during a high-speed demonstration flight. The fighter jet, part of India’s showcase for indigenous defence technology, went down near the runway at Al Maktoum International Airport, erupting into flames moments after impact.
Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft appeared to lose control mid-maneuver before crashing. Unlike previous Tejas incidents, this time the pilot could not eject in time and was declared dead at the scene. Emergency teams rushed to the site and quickly contained the fire, preventing further damage or injuries to spectators.
The Indian Air Force and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have both expressed deep shock over the accident. A Court of Inquiry has been launched to determine whether the crash was caused by a technical failure, pilot error, or external factors.
The Tejas, a key symbol of India’s “Make in India” aviation capability, was participating in the air show to demonstrate agility, speed, and combat-ready performance. The crash has cast a shadow over India’s defence display, but officials maintain that a single incident does not reflect the overall reliability of the aircraft.
The crash has left everyone shocked, and the pilot’s loss has deeply saddened the event’s visitors and organisers
